Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar may have gotten some harsh (albeit empty) words from Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Rahm Emanuel, but plenty of Democrats still have her back, including Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
TMZ tracked Tlaib down at Reagan International Airport on Tuesday, and got to say a few words about the latest developments concerning her Israel-averse colleague and House Democrats’ pathetic “anti-hate” resolution that doesn’t mention Omar by name and couldn’t even denounce anti-Semitism without giving equal time to Islamophobia:
Tlaib calls the Speaker’s move “unprecedented” — suggesting the resolution is exactly what many have called it … a very public rebuke of Rep. Omar for her comments about Israel and Palestine […]
Rep. Tlaib tells us it’s obvious “we all very much oppose all forms of hate.” Her point seems to be there’s NO other reason for Pelosi’s resolution than chastising Rep. Omar … even though Pelosi’s measure makes no mention of Omar’s name.
Tlaib urged all Americans to watch Rep. Omar’s remarks and judge for themselves.
Of course, Omar is in trouble precisely because Americans did hear her words, as the Chicks on the Right respond:
That’s exactly why we don’t like her. Because we actually LISTEN to the word vomit that constantly flies out of her face.
“Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel”? “I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK for people to push for allegiance to a foreign country”? There’s certainly something obvious about these words…but it isn’t that Omar thinks hate is bad.
Tlaib’s moral phoniness should come as no surprise; this is the same woman that just the other day claimed not only that Omar was innocent of the bigotry charge, but that she’s some sort of hero:
.@IlhanMN‘s strength inspires me and so many. She is being targeted just like many civil rights icons before us who spoke out about oppressive policies. As she uplifts my Sity and other Palestinians in the name of justice and peace, she shows us real courage. https://t.co/IItiZ8nkpt

But why is she so defensive of Omar? Maybe because she appears to share the same prejudice:

Oh, and thanks to Democrats gutting the hate resolution of any teeth against the actual offense that inspired it in the first place, Omar and Tlaib are now trying to spin it as a victory…against anti-Muslim bigotry:

This is all welcome in the national Democrat Party. American Jews and everyone else who believes in opposing prejudice at home and supporting the allies of civilization abroad should take notice.
